The PROMETHEUS Pro-1T kiln is a 1000°C front-loading kiln, with a built-in, easy-to-use, 3-key digital controller. The digital controller is not a programmer -  it will let you set a target temperature, it also has a timer ability that enables you to fire your objects for a specified time, at the target temperature. This little kiln is rated at 220V/700W and plugs directly into a regular domestic mains socket. It is very economical to run and uses less electricity than most regular hairdryers. It is small enough to use in your home, school, craft work shop, or jewellery studio. Weighing in at only 7kgs, the PROMETHEUS Pro-1T kiln is lightweight, easy to carry and ideal to take with you to workshops or craft retreats
The outer steel case measures 225mm x 220mm x 280mm. The firing chamber measures 115mm x 130mm x 70mm. There's a small *vent in the door. It is normal for the metal above this vent and above the door to discolour slightly with use.
*Please note* The hole or vent in the door of the Prometheus PRO-1T kiln is designed specifically as a vent for smoke and a way for oxygen to enter the kiln during firing. It is important that you don't try to plug the hole with anything or to use it as a peep hole. Looking into the kiln while it's firing is dangerous, it will not only damage your eyes but it could also burn you. The plate around the hole and the area around the door of the kiln will begin to show more discolouration with use. This is to be expected and is normal.
This kiln does not include a kiln shelf or kiln furniture, they are optional extras. We do not recommend firing anything directly on the floor of the firing chamber.
