Enamel Sifting Screen 100-Mesh Stainless Steel.
Use this enamel sifting screen 100 mesh (15.24cm x 15.24cm) to sift powdered enamel to achieve a uniform grain size for a smooth enamel finish. Make your own enamel sifters in various sizes to suit your needs. It is very easy to make your own enamel sifter/s in various sizes. Select a suitably sized plastic lid from a hair spray or any container with a plastic lid. Cut out the sealed end of the lid with snips, strong scissors or box cutters. Circle the size needed on the enamel sifting screen mesh (approx 2-3mm larger than the actual size) with a marker. Cut the mesh out with scissors. Place on the prepared lid. Use an old iron (not too hot - medium/low heat is fine as long as it melts the plastic) to weld the mesh to the lid. This needs to be done in a well ventilated space. Carefully "tack weld" the plastic lid onto the mesh in a few areas and then continue around the whole rim. When it is completely welded/sealed and cool, cut off the surrounding excess mesh. The alternative option to using an iron is to use a heated trowel by heating the tip area with a gas torch. For either method - care should be taken to avoid a burn!
