• Art Clay Silver 950 will have a silver purity of .950 when fired and pieces can be legally hallmarked as Sterling Silver. Art Clay Silver 950 Clay is 60% stronger when fired and is more durable than regular Art Clay Silver. It has the beauty and simplicity expected of the Art Clay Silver series but its additional strength makes Art Clay Silver 950 an ideal medium for creating rings, clasps, hinges and even bangles or cuff bracelets. Soft and smooth in texture, this slow-drying clay allows plenty of working or open time. It is easily reconditioned with water.  Better still, no messy activated carbon is needed for firing Art Clay Silver 950. The open-shelf kiln firing is simple and dried pieces can be fired directly on a regular kiln board or fibre blanket. Pieces can easily be finished by hand, and you get exactly the shine or patina you desire. Available in 2 sizes: 25 gram and 50 gram. Made in Japan.

• Firing
• Start the firing session with the kiln at room temperature.
• Place dried, finished piece inside the kiln and slowly ramp kiln temperature to 500℃.
• Hold kiln temperature at 500℃ for 30 minutes.
• With piece remaining inside the kiln, raise the temperature to 870℃
• Hold temperature at 870℃ for 60 minutes.
• Turn off the kiln. Gradually cool kiln to 200℃ or lower.   Allowing kiln to cool down to room temperature is also appropriate
• Art Clay Silver 950 cannot be torch or gas stove top fired
• Please be aware that firing Art Clay Silver 950 pieces using a firing schedule other than the Art Clay Silver 950 recommended method above, may not be successful.
• We recommend test firing a small Art Clay Silver 950 piece using your own kiln to check the firing result.  Variances can occur with different kiln types.
