These changes are due to circumstances beyond our control, specifically, unprecedented volatility and a significant surge in global precious metal prices. This shift in supply has impacted both international manufacturers and local distributors, leaving us with no choice but to adjust our rates accordingly.

We are monitoring the market closely and hope to see the situation stabilize in the coming weeks. Please be assured that we will adjust our pricing downward as soon as market conditions allow.

This Formula of Art Clay Silver combines the benefits of previous formulations, easy moulding, slow drying - up to 4 x prolonged clay workability time, low fire - fires at lower temperatures and can be torch fired.

Art Clay products are crafted through a patented process that delivers the highest purity available from any metal clay. 

Art Clay Silver is the only precious metal clay that is certified by the Arts & Creative Materials Institute (ACMI) to conform to international standard ASTM D 4236.  It identifies art materials that are safe to humans including children and have been certified in toxicological evaluation by a medical expert.

• Consists of pure silver particles, binding agent and water. The binding agent is produced from natural pulp fibre.

• During firing, the pure silver particles solidify, and turn into pure silver (over 99.96%) . The binding agent consists of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen, and when fired, results in the release of a small amount of carbon dioxide and steam during the firing process.

• This product is a low temperature - firing clay that can be fired from 650℃, and turns into pure silver (over 99.96%) after firing. The special formula of this product allows for combining with glass, porcelain and ceramic materials, and is also suitable for firing with sterling silver finding or wire. (Use SV925 at the firing temperature 650℃, a hold time of 30 minutes is recommended).

• The surface of the fired piece will be white and matte due to crystallization of silver during firing, but a fine silver finish can be obtained by polishing.

Over the past months there has been a very sharp and significant surge in all of our silver metal clay related costs. There are multiple reasons for this but the fundemental factor behind the huge surge in silver metal clay prices is the record high world spot silver price. This has resulted in all the silver based products prices skyrocketing. The steep rise in the spot silver price has been driven by global uncertainty, high industrial and investor demand, market instability, supply chain stock piling/deficit issues and increased global shipping costs.

In July 2023 Silver Spot prices were considered to be extremely high when they reached AUD$33 AUD per ounce.  However since 2023, the silver spot price has broken all previous silver records and seen even more significant price surges. In December 2025, the silver spot price reached an unprecedented AUD$100 AUD per ounce. Unfortunately as a result, Silver Metal Clay manufacturers, distributors, resellers, artists and hobbyist around the world are now facing significant, never seen before, silver metal clay price increases.  The more complex the silver fabrication, manufacturing method is, the more expensive the end product will be. Unlike traditional silver which is simply melted and milled into wire or sheets, the manufacture and fabrication of raw materials to make silver metal clay the amazing and unique product it is, is a specialized, expensive and complex process. 

Unfortunately the myriad of factors mentioned above have severely compounded the costs for manufacturers of silver metal clay around the world and regrettably we have had to adjust our prices accordingly.
